Pendulum - Watercolor (Analysis)

The technical aspects of the video are very unusual much like the song, but non the less good. The use of camera shots are very effective, such the extreme close up of the human at the beginning of the video. In addition to this the there are also some interesting shots featuring the sky and moving clouds. The performance of the artist in the video is well done, the lip syncing is performed accurately when used.

The lighting used throughout is generally dark but effective for its purpose in the music video. Most of the video is monochrome until near the end when some light variants of color is used, mostly beige. The costumes in the video are simple as the band members and crowd are dressed normally. The mise en scene of the video seems to be at an evening gig, but with a strange twist due the approaching meteor in the sky.

Overall, I feel that this video is successful due to the unusual mise en scene, the use of monochrome, and the excellent performance of the band.
